It’s important that you take the time to prepare and make sure you ask meaningful questions. Below are a few questions you may want to ask during your interview:
What qualities are you seeking in the person for this job?
This gives the interviewer the opportunity to state what he or she is looking for exactly and to help your understand how your own skills align with the position.
What is the single largest problem facing your staff and would I be in a position to help you solve this problem?
This is a great question that proves to the interviewer that you are dedicated to helping the company. It also gives you a chance to put your problem solving skills on display by possibly discussing similar issues you've faced in the past.
Do you have any hesitations about my qualifications?
This question allows you to follow up with the interviewer if he or she has any doubts about your skills, and gives you a chance to address any concerns that may simply be a misunderstanding, or to highlight skills that you do possess but weren't necessarily highlighted in your application.
What can you tell me about your plans for growth?
This allows you to better understand where the company is headed, and to envision how your role may evolve over time.
